Co-Director of the SGA Environmental Affairs Committee

I first met Varsha at a workshop on women in politics where she passionately expressed why it was so important for her to become a Sophomore Class Senator. She didn’t see many people who looked like her in these positions of power and believed that she had to step up to set a precedent for coming students, for students like me. For the past two years, I have dedicated myself to climate justice, striving for a more inclusive Middlebury within and outside of our environmental spaces. Varsha has been there throughout to not only support this vision but to be an active advocate for the same values. She truly will give it her all to build a community where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and most importantly, appreciated. I agreed to take on the position of co-director of SGA’s Environmental Affairs Committee in part because I was inspired by Varsha’s words; I can only imagine how many others she has empowered and will empower if she is SGA President.
